Connor Ellis - Alto and Tenor Sax
Connor Ellis was born and raised in Kennebunk, ME and completed a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education at the University of New Hampshire. Primarily a jazz musician at heart, Connor has experience in a variety of genres ranging from classical music to commercial genres such as rock, pop,
funk, ska, and more. Aside from his own working jazz quartet, the Connor Ellis Group, he holds the lead tenor chair in the Dover, NH-based Off/Axis Big Band, and performs the music of Frank Zappa with the Newbury, MA-based band St. Alfonzo. Connor has shared the stage with such luminaries as Adam Larson, Trent Austin, Miguel Zenon, Bijon Watson, and more throughout his career.
Connor has studied saxophone under a number of renowned educators and performers such as Dr. Nathan Jorgensen (UNH), Barry Saunders (USM), Nick Mainella, Luis Hernandez, and Adam Larson. As a budding composer and arranger, Connor has studied with composers Michael Annicchiarico and Mike Conrad.
